Posterior Chamber Phakic Intraocular Lenses for the Correction of Myopia: Factors Influencing the Postoperative Refraction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens implantation is a refractive technique for the correction of myopia. This study aimed to identify those factors contributing variability in postoperative refraction. Methods: retrospective evaluated 73 eyes (one eye per patient) implanted with myopic implantable collamer lenses (ICL). Eyes were divided into two groups, low group (LMG) (ICL > −9.5 DS) and high (HMG) ≤ DS), compare predictability, efficacy index, refraction between groups. The association anatomical, demographic, optical features was assessed through correlation analysis investigated using ray-tracing. Results: Postoperative at 3 months whole close emmetropia −0.02 ± 0.37 DS, LMG tended toward myopia HMG, hyperopia. results showed that 65% 54% had within ±0.25 respectively, both 100% ±1.00 DS. ICL higher index HMG (1.13 0.15) than (1.04 0.15). positively associated vault (R = 0.408) negatively correlated power −0.382). Conclusion: predictability effectiveness wide range myopias. Considering expected including accurate vertex measurements would contribute improving results.

Comparison of Three Phakic Intraocular Lenses for Correction of Myopia
PURPOSE To compare the visual outcomes and complications of three different types of phakic intraocular lenses (PIOLs), for correction of moderate to high myopia. METHODS We reviewed 112 myopic eyes undergoing PIOL implantation using Artisan (40 eyes), Artiflex (36 eyes), and implantable collamer lens (ICL, 36 eyes). Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), pachymetry,...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy, safety and stability of posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens (PIOLs) implantation for the correction of high myopia. METHODS Thirty-nine eyes of twenty patients with high myopia (between -11.75 and -25.75 diopters) had a posterior chamber PIOL (Staar ICL) implanted. During 6 - 48 months' follow-up, visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP),...

متن کاملExcimer laser refractive surgery versus phakic intraocular lenses for the correction of moderate to high myopia.
BACKGROUND Myopia is a condition in which the focusing power (refraction) of the eye is greater than that required for clear distance vision. There are two main types of surgical correction for moderate to high myopia; excimer laser and phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs). Excimer laser refractive surgery for myopia works by removing corneal stroma to lessen the refractive power of the cornea and ...
